Specialized training field
The Finance and Banking industry currently offers training in the following two specialized fields:
- Corporate Finance
- Banking Business
Output standards
Graduates of the Finance-Banking program (University level) achieve the following output standards that meet the training standards set by the Council for Accreditation of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the Business Program of the United States as follows:
1. Attitude and professional ethics
- Comply with laws, principles, and standards in financial investment, independence, honesty, objectivity when participating in the financial market.
- Dynamic, confident, and responsible in serving customers and the community.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
2. Professional competence
- Determine the time value of money, value stocks, bonds, and other types of fund certificates. Build and analyze financial statements of enterprises, analyze cash flows, determine short-term, medium-term, and long-term funding sources. Appraise investment projects using methods such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), Profitability Index (PI), etc. Determine discount rates, apply enterprise valuation models using discounted cash flow method, Economic Value Added (EVA) method, and other methods. Build an effective investment portfolio consisting of various assets, apply the Markowitz model, use derivative securities in enterprise risk management such as Future Contracts, Forward Contracts, Swap Contracts, Option Contracts.
- Understand and implement assessment, evaluation, and credit granting processes for various customer objects including types of enterprises, individuals, and other financial institutions along with other services and products of the bank such as international payment, card payment, savings, deposits, etc.
- Understand financial behaviors to explain abnormalities in the financial market. Build effective financial management strategies. Understand the choices that managers have to face to decide which one brings the best value and how they are formed from the main stakeholders of the company including the government, society, trading partners, customers, employees, and competitors. Research, plan policies, and solve professional issues in the field of financial management. Apply modern financial knowledge and skills to support leaders in recognizing and evaluating the current financial situation of the enterprise.
- Advise on capital mobilization in the financial market, advise on business mergers and acquisitions, advise on equitization, advise on listing on the Stock Exchange. Advise investors on investment in the Vietnamese stock market as well as in the world. Recommend a plan for corporate restructuring.
3. Integration and lifelong learning ability
- Achieve a minimum English proficiency equivalent to B1 level, use English in work, study, and research in the field of finance and banking.
- Teamwork skills, leadership ability.
- Perform and organize work; problem-solving skills, work independently according to assigned tasks; adaptability to a dynamic working environment.
- Summarize experience from practice to develop critical thinking and creativity skills.
- Self-study supplementary knowledge of specialized fields to serve their main field at a higher level as well as to have the opportunity to switch and hold high positions in the future.
- Update changes in the current economic-political-social integration and globalization process and apply them in practice after graduation.
