OPENING CEREMONY AND LAUNCH OF HOA SEN GRADUATE ALUMNI May 14, 2022
On the morning of May 14, 2022, within the esteemed confines of the You Rock Studio auditorium, Hoa Sen University (HSU) orchestrated a dignified Opening Ceremony to extend a warm welcome to the inaugural cohort of Master’s program students for the year 2022. Concurrently, the Postgraduate Education Institute unveiled the Hoa Sen Graduate Alumni (HSGA) initiative, aimed at fostering connections and nurturing the growth of the postgraduate community.
The ceremony took place in a warm atmosphere, with the participation of Mr. Lê Trương Hiền Hòa – Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism; Mr. Lê Trường Duy – Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Ho Chi Minh City, Foreign Service Center, and International Conference (FSC); and Ms. Bùi Hoàng Yên – Deputy Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Office, Commercial Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade. From HSU, there were the attendance of Associate Professor. Dr. Võ Thị Ngọc Thúy – Rector of the university, Dr. Đoàn Minh Châu – Director of the Postgraduate Education Institute, along with leaders of departments, the Academic Board, and over 50 students and alumni of the Master’s programs.
At the Opening Ceremony for New Students, Associate Professor. Dr. Võ Thị Ngọc Thúy – Rector of Hoa Sen University, stated: “The postgraduate programs at Hoa Sen University are developed based on the quality foundation of international training programs with a spirit of openness and entrepreneurship. At the same time, the university also commits to the values that students will receive throughout their study period, including transparency in education, dedication from both lecturers and students, flexibility in the training program, and the prestige of the Master’s degree that students will receive. The Board of Directors and the university will create all conditions for the postgraduate student community to connect, learn from each other. We hope this organization will not only be a meeting place but also become the best experiential environment for students and alumni, a place to share experiences and cooperate effectively in their careers.”
The first chairman of HSGA, Dr. Mai Thanh Hoài – Business Development Director, Ngọc Lốp Ô Tô Co., Ltd., MBA Alumni of Batch 5, shared: “Alumni and students of Master’s programs have long awaited a playground for postgraduate student community interactions. To be more successful in their careers, postgraduate students, especially in Business Administration, need networks for connection, sharing, and collaboration. On behalf of the Executive Committee of HSGA, I sincerely thank the attention of Associate Professor. Dr. Võ Thị Ngọc Thúy, the Rector of the university, the teachers in the university’s Leadership Board, and the Postgraduate Education Institute. From this community, we hope to organize many beneficial activities for postgraduate students to have more interesting experiences and open up more career development opportunities.”
Students of Master’s programs are not only trained in professional knowledge but also equipped with skills to apply theories into practice. Many research projects by students have been published in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals and applied and developed in their own businesses. At the HSGA launch event, alumni shared their study process, experiences in conducting scientific research topics, and career development directions with the Master’s program at HSU.
Dr. Châu Kim Phượng – HR Director of Aura Intelligent Living, MBA Valedictorian of Batch 3, shared: “I am fortunate to have participated in the MBA program from the very beginning, so this place gives me a warm feeling like my own family, and I can confidently introduce the MBA program at HSU to others. The training program not only focuses on practical application but also builds a theoretical foundation and scientific research methods for students. My thesis “Evaluating factors affecting the happiness level of students in private higher education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City,” supervised by Dr. Phan Võ Minh Thắng, has been published in an international journal. Moreover, I have applied this topic to develop the happiness index in my current business.” Additionally, on this occasion, Dr. Kim Phượng and MBA students also had the opportunity to introduce and display business products, attracting the interest of many people in the G hall of Hoa Sen University.
The success of students and alumni in life and career is the success of the university in its mission of nurturing individuals. Alongside standardizing training programs, the Postgraduate Education Institute of HSU has been and is striving to enhance the student experience through a system of care, tracking students’ learning progress, regularly organizing activities, events to connect the student community and alumni, with leading experts and with relevant departments. The Master’s programs at HSU not only equip students with in-depth knowledge and systems but also create conditions for them to connect, exchange, experience, and enhance their personal capacity.
