Master of Business Administration (MBA) Admission Information for Cohort 9
The Master of Business Administration program at Hoa Sen University is designed with a focus on practical application. The program aims to help students supplement, update, and enhance their knowledge in the field and specialization, strengthen interdisciplinary knowledge, acquire in-depth knowledge in business administration, and apply that knowledge to practical professional activities. It also aims to develop students’ abilities for independent work, creative thinking, and problem-solving in business management. The program also equips students with self-study methods and fosters lifelong learning motivation.
1. Admission Requirements
Candidates applying for the MBA programs at Hoa Sen University must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Public Economics Management, Marketing Management, or other economics-related fields from universities or educational institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a different field than Business Administration and other economics-related fields must study and pass the required supplementary knowledge courses as specified by the Ministry of Education and Training before the university’s examination date.
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a different field than Business Administration and other economics-related fields must have at least 2 years of work experience by the enrollment date. If the work experience is less than two years, the Admissions Council will consider the graduation classification to make a decision.
- Have a clear personal background.
- Have sufficient health condition for studying.
- Submit a complete application dossier within the specified deadline according to the university’s regulations.
2. Training Program
2.1. Training Duration:
The total program duration is 18 months. Depending on the individual conditions of the students, the duration of study until the successful defense of the thesis can be extended to a maximum of 3.5 years.
2.2. Total Credits:
The total credits for the entire program are 60.

Hoa Sen University offers the Master of Business Administration program with four training directions:
- MBA – Business Administration
- MBA – Logistics Management
- MBA – Public Economics Management
- MBA – Marketing Management
3. Registration Information
3.1. Registration Period:
- Application submission deadline: June 3, 2021 – June 25, 2021
- Review period: June 25, 2021 – July 5, 2021

3.3. Conditions for Language Proficiency Exemption:
- Candidates are exempted from the language proficiency exam if they meet one of the following conditions:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from full-time programs abroad (with English as the medium of instruction), recognized by the competent authority (Department of Quality Management of the Ministry of Education and Training).
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from advanced programs under the Ministry of Education and Training’s Project on Advanced Training Programs at some Vietnamese universities or a high-quality engineer degree (PFIEV) recognized by the engineer certification committee (CTI, France) with counterparts from foreign countries (with English as the medium of instruction).
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in English language or equivalent.
- Hold one of the following English proficiency certificates with minimum scores:

4. Priority Groups and Bonus Points
4.1. Priority Groups
- Candidates with continuous working experience of 2 years or more (calculated until the application deadline) in designated areas as Zone 1 according to the current Regulations on university admission for regular programs. In this case, candidates must have a decision on acceptance or dispatch, assignment, or delegation from the competent authority.
- War invalids, war martyrs’ descendants.
- Martyrs.
- Armed Forces heroes, labor heroes.
- Ethnic minorities with permanent residency for 2 years or more in the areas specified in Point a of this section.
- Children of war invalids who are affected by chemical toxins, recognized by the provincial People’s Committee to have deformities, disabilities, or reduced self-reliance abilities in daily life and learning due to the consequences of chemical toxins.
4.2. Bonus Points
- Candidates belonging to priority groups will receive an additional ten points (out of 100) for the Foreign Language subject if not exempted, and one point (out of 10) for the Basic Major subject.
- Candidates belonging to multiple priority groups will only receive priority once.
5. Application Dossier

- Copy of the bachelor’s degree or temporary graduation certificate.
- Copy of academic transcripts at the university level, showing the course names, hours, and grades of each subject; Download
- Confirmation of work experience duration (for candidates applying to the Business Administration directions); Download
- Personal curriculum vitae with photo, confirmed and stamped by the personnel management agency at the workplace or the local authorities where the candidate resides.
- Health check certificate issued within 3 months.
- Copy of the supplementary knowledge course transcript for candidates requesting exemption.
- Copy of the language proficiency certificate for language proficiency exemption candidates, if any.
- Documents proving priority groups, if any.
- Three 3×4 portrait photos taken within 6 months (with name, date of birth written on the back, enclosed in an envelope).
- Copy of birth certificate (additional document to be submitted when admitted and enrolled).
- All documents must be submitted in original for verification or certified copies.

6. Conditions for Admission and Selection
- Candidates eligible for admission must achieve at least 50% of the score for each exam, test (after adding bonus points, if any).
- Based on the announced criteria for each field and specialization, the total scores of the two exams, tests for each candidate (excluding the language proficiency score) will be used by the Admissions Council to determine the admission scores.
- In case there are multiple candidates with the same total scores of the two exams, tests mentioned above (after adding bonus points, if any), the priority will be given in the following order:
- Female candidates, according to the regulations in Article 16, Decree No. 48/2009/ND-CP dated May 19, 2009, on measures to ensure gender equality.
- Candidates with higher scores in the key subject of the specialization.
- Candidates exempted from the language proficiency exam or those with higher scores in the language proficiency exam.
