FOREIGN LANGUEGE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION MAE – Batch 7/2022

To support candidates participating in the Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment, the Postgraduate Institute is offering review classes for Foreign Language 2 (Chinese and French) for candidates applying for the Master of Arts in English Language (MAE) program, March 2022 intake.

Review class information:

Language: French and Chinese

Duration: March 4th – March 11th, 2022

Schedule: 4 sessions, 12 periods (The official schedule will be sent to you later)

Candidates applying for the Master of Arts in English Language program at Hoa Sen University must participate in the Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment conducted by the university (either Chinese or French) or may be exempted from the exam if they meet the language proficiency requirements

Exemption conditions for the foreign language subject:

Candidates participating in the admission examination are exempt from the foreign language subject if they meet one of the following conditions:

1. Hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree earned full-time abroad, recognized by the competent authority according to current regulations.
2. Hold a bachelor’s degree from the Advanced Program under the Ministry of Education and Training’s Project on Advanced Program Training at certain universities in Vietnam or hold a High-Quality Engineer (PFIEV) degree recognized by the Engineer Certification Committee (CTI, France) with foreign partners.
3. Hold a bachelor’s degree in a foreign language major.
4. Hold a foreign language proficiency certificate equivalent to level 3 or above according to the Ministry of Education and Training’s 6-level foreign language proficiency framework, as converted in the table below, within a period of 2 years from the date of issuance of the language proficiency certificate to the date of registration for the master’s degree examination, issued by institutions permitted or recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training. The Principal must verify and take responsibility for the authenticity of the language proficiency certificate before recognizing its equivalence.

• For candidates holding a bachelor’s degree or higher issued by the educational institution within the last 2 years, and where the program’s learning outcomes have met the language proficiency requirement at level 3 or above according to the 6-level foreign language competency framework used in Vietnam:

Note:

• Certificates used for exemption from the foreign language subject must be valid until the registration date for the examination.

• For candidates applying for the Master of Arts in English Language program, the requirement for foreign language 2 is proficiency in languages other than English, at level 3 or above according to the 6-level foreign language competency framework used in Vietnam, or equivalent to level B1 or above according to the European framework. Candidates need to submit a copy of the certificate for the Admission Council’s consideration and decision.

Instructions for tuition fee payment:

Candidates can make tuition fee payments through one of the following methods:

Note:

Please include the following information in the transfer note: Full name, MAE Foreign Language 2 review class tuition fee.

After making the transfer, candidates should send the payment receipt to the email addresses: hocphi@hoasen.edu.vn, mai.phanthingoc@hoasen.edu.vn, and caohoc@hoasen.edu.vn for confirmation of completion of the procedure.

2/ Direct payment at the university:

Candidates can make cash payments or use domestic debit cards (ATM cards) or international cards (Visa, Master, UnionPay, and JCB) at:

Note: Candidates should bring the Foreign Language 2 review class registration form when making tuition fee payments directly at the Finance and Accounting Office.
