FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION – Admissions for Master programs at Hoa Sen University, Batch 2/2021

To support candidates participating in the foreign language proficiency assessment, the Postgraduate Training Institute is opening review classes for Foreign Language 2 (Chinese and French) for candidates applying for the Master’s Program in English Language (MAE).

Candidates applying for the Master’s Program in English Language must participate in the foreign language proficiency test organized by the university (Chinese or French) or can be exempted from the test if they meet the foreign language proficiency requirements.

Foreign Language 2 Exemption Conditions

Conditions for exemption from the foreign language test: Candidates applying for admission who meet one of the following conditions will be exempt from the Foreign Language test:

• Possess a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from full-time training abroad, recognized by the competent authority according to current regulations.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an advanced program under the Project of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) for advanced programs in some universities in Vietnam, or a high-quality engineer degree (PFIEV) recognized by the French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), awarded by a foreign partner.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a foreign language major. Possess a foreign language proficiency certificate equivalent to level 3 or higher according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework of MOET, as per the conversion table below, valid for 02 years from the date of issuance of the foreign language certificate to the date of master’s exam registration, issued by institutions permitted or recognized by MOET. The principal must assess and be responsible for the authenticity of the foreign language certificate before recognizing its equivalence.

• Possessing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree awarded by the educational institution within the last 02 years, where the program’s output standards have met the foreign language requirements of level 3 or higher according to the 6-level foreign language competency framework used for Vietnam;
• Foreign national candidates must achieve Vietnamese language proficiency from level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese competency framework for foreigners if registering for master’s programs taught in Vietnamese, or have graduated from a university (or equivalent level or higher) where the training program was taught in Vietnamese; meeting the second foreign language requirement as regulated by the educational institution (if any).

Note:

• Certificates for foreign language exemption, if subject to a validity period, must remain valid until the registration date for the master’s examination.

• For candidates registering for the Master’s program in English, the requirement for the second foreign language, other than English, is to achieve a level equivalent to level 3 or higher according to the 6-level foreign language competency framework used for Vietnam or equivalent to level B1 or higher according to the European framework. Candidates need to submit a copy of the certificate for the Admission Council to review and decide.

• Candidates can register to participate in review classes to supplement knowledge for the foreign language proficiency assessment.

Candidates can pay the tuition fee in one of the following two ways:

Note: Please bring the FL2 review class registration form when paying tuition fees directly at the Finance and Accounting Department.
