Renilde Montessori, youngest granddaughter of Dr. Maria Montessori passed away

To the Montessori Community,

It is with sad hearts that we announce that Renilde Montessori passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at her home in Spain.

Renilde Montessori, youngest granddaughter of Dr. Maria Montessori was the soul and centre of the Montessori community in Toronto. The Foundation for Montessori Education was, is and will continue to be Mrs. Montessori’s centre.  Her vision, legacy, beauty, great mind and gentle spirit live on in our continued work on behalf of the child.

As we prepare to host tributes and celebrations of her life and work, the Foundation will be honoured to receive any messages and donations from the community. As she touched so many, all are welcome to contribute. In due time, we will announce the special events to celebrate Mrs. Montessori’s life.
