WORKSHOP MASTER TALK 2 – EP.6: “CULTURE UNWRAPPED: US & UK”

To provide students with an academic and cultural experience during the festive season, the Faculty of International Languages and Cultures (ILC) in collaboration with WESET English Center is honored to organize a workshop titled “Culture Unwrapped: US & UK.” This event is expected to broaden participants’ understanding of British and American cultures while enhancing their English communication skills in practical settings.

By participating in this program, participants will have the opportunity to:

• Explore the distinctive features of British and American cultures, including language, dialects, customs, traditional festivals, and daily habits. The workshop will particularly highlight the key differences between these two cultures, offering attendees a deeper insight into the international cultural context.
• Practice English communication skills through scenarios related to Christmas, supporting language development in a natural and creative environment.
• Engage in interactive games (minigames) to foster connections and win attractive prizes from the organizers.
• Personally decorate the Christmas tree and write meaningful holiday wishes for themselves and loved ones, contributing to a warm and festive atmosphere.

The workshop will feature Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Thành, M.A., an IELTS instructor at WESET English Center, who possesses extensive teaching experience and outstanding achievements in English language education:

• IELTS 8.0 (2023), TOEIC 950 (2021)
• Bachelor’s Degree in English Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (2019)
• TESOL Certificate (2020)

With his extensive teaching background and profound understanding of British and American cultures, Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Thành promises to deliver engaging stories and practical knowledge about cultural exchange in the context of global integration.

This workshop is not only an opportunity to learn about the unique Christmas customs and traditions in the UK and the US but also a chance for students to improve their language skills, expand their international cultural knowledge, and develop practical communication abilities. It will serve as an essential foundation to help students build confidence in academic and professional environments in the future.
