“I was quite overwhelmed when stepping into the university due to the completely different learning environment. I was very shy and passive in communication, lacking confidence when facing a crowd. Additionally, my foreign language skills were very modest. However, since attending English courses in the General English Program for nearly 8 months, I have noticed significant progress: I am no longer timid in communicating with friends and teachers; when presenting in front of a crowd, I am more confident, and my presentation skills have improved greatly compared to when I first started. “I really enjoy the English learning environment in the General English Program. English has always been one of my strengths in high school. However, the regular school environment didn’t provide many opportunities for me to develop my language abilities. When studying in the General English Program, I have many opportunities to use the English I have learned in communication with classmates and teachers. Additionally, the activities in class are very diverse, such as vocabulary and grammar learning activities. Furthermore, I have noticed improvement in my writing skills compared to when I first started.”

“I find the English learning environment in the General English Program very dynamic. I have been studying for nearly a year and have achieved some promising results compared to when I first entered university. Previously, although I had a certain amount of vocabulary, I couldn’t use it in communication. However, the teachers in the department have created classroom learning activities that require students to use English more, which has significantly improved my speaking skills. Furthermore, I feel more confident speaking in front of an audience thanks to group and individual presentations on specific topics during class.”
