TVCREATE 2023: More than just an advertising film creative competition
With the theme “Moments Of The Movement,” the advertising film creative competition – TVCREATE 2023 of Hoa Sen University (HSU) expanding with many goals, tasks in the field of marketing not simply making advertising films.
Creative playground for young talents for over 10 years
TVCreate is an academic playground that was established in 2010 for those who love advertising and marketing nationwide, organized by the Faculty of Economics – Business – at Hoa Sen University. This year marks the 13th season of TVCreate, with a large scale, for all young people from 16 – 24 years old nationwide, expected to reach about 10,000 participants with a total prize value of up to 140 million VND. The opening ceremony of the competition will be held on March 29, 2023.
In previous seasons, TVCreate was a competition organized with the ultimate goal of helping contestants hone and practice their advertising filmmaking skills. However, The organizers has recognized that it’s time to change the competition format to help contestants develop a broader range of skills, not just confined to creating advertising films. This year, the competition will focus on the creativity and market thinking of young participants to implement comprehensive communication plans, from ideation to execution. With this comeback, TVCreate 2023 aims to bring a fresh perspective for young participants, fostering community connections among those who share a common passion and enthusiasm for marketing.
“TVCreate has been known for its role as an advertising film production competition for the past 12 years. However, with this year’s comeback, we hope the competition will enhance diversity in challenges to help contestants develop a variety of skills in the field of Marketing, from conception to implementing communication strategies for businesses,” shared Mr. Cu Đang Anh Quang, Head of the contest organizers.
Joining the trend of the youth
If in the previous season, TVCreate adopted the theme “Take a step forward” with a focus on exploring the topic of “Post-Covid-19,” then in 2023, the competition theme is directed towards the current trends of the youth: “Moments Of The Movement – Capturing the pulse of change.”
The rapid and transformative development of modern life: New trends constantly appear, technology and utilities are constantly improved… has led young people to cultivate the habit of capturing and storing photos based on the new technology of smartphones. The strong influence of digital photo storage nowadays directly competes with the market for instant cameras, diminishing the emotional value, artistry, and authenticity of every “living moment.”
With this theme, participating teams will act as the marketing team for the Kodak camera brand – the main sponsor of the competition. Contestants must propose an integrated marketing communication (IMC) plan for the Instant Camera product with the goal of: Making Kodak the popular choice for instant camera among young people in Vietnam within a 6-month period with estimated budgets, spreading the spirit of Moments Of the Movement.
Accordingly, candidates must go through 4 rounds. In Round 1, teams will develop a basic proposal based on the given topic. In Round 2, teams will work with a mentor to receive specialized support and complete a comprehensive proposal. Round 3: Teams complete their viral clips in the most meticulous way to post on the Facebook platform. Clips will be measured for media effectiveness 2 weeks after posting. Round 4, the most outstanding teams will present their proposal development process and demonstrate the effectiveness of their marketing plan to the program’s judging panel.
As an annual academic competition, TVCreate takes pride in being a healthy and beneficial playground for young talents. Participating in TVCreate provides contestants with opportunities to learn, enhance their experiences, and develop themselves through each round of the competition. TVCreate 2023 is scheduled to run from March 29, 2022, to June 10, 2023.
