ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBERAL EDUCATION
In February 2018, the Service-learning Center was transferred to the Department of Liberal Education, General Education Program. The Center has mission is to support lecturers, students, and community partners in implementing Service-learning subjects, collaborating on training and development through community working hours of Service-learning and Service-learning projects.
Developing Service-learning courses and projects aims to address real community needs, develop problem-solving skills, and practical thinking, and build civic responsibility and leadership capacity. leadership of Hoa Sen University students.
The Service-learning Center becoming a part of the Department of Liberal Education will increase the applicability of subjects at the Department, promote multi-dimensional and thorough thinking of students and lecturers, and develop The ability to adapt to constant changes in society that Hoa Sen students need in their future careers.
Shortly, the Department of Liberal Education will deploy three Service-learning subjects:
- Corporate social responsibility: Through supporting the community, students apply knowledge and academic skills of the subject to promote their sense of social responsibility and Hoa Sen University.
- Holistic development through art therapy: Students apply knowledge and skills of art therapy to develop skills and positive attitudes in communities.
- Building a peaceful community: With this subject, students have the opportunity to learn and experience activities in the community to develop a sense of care and environmental protection.
