Training by Fulbright Scholars – Dr. Michelle McCollin at Hoa Sen University
Dr. Michelle McCollin is an assistant professor of Special Education at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She is a research and teaching expert in African American Studies, International Relations, School Supervision & Administration. She studied at Syracuse University (New York), and Brooklyn College (New York). She defended her doctoral thesis specializing in Mild Moderate Disabilities at Southern University and A and M College, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In addition to academic experience, Dr. McCollin is also passionate about community activities. She started a non-governmental organization called “EYES4AFRICA Foundation, Inc.”, where she donated over 8,500 pairs of glasses to Southwest Nigeria, West Africa, Trinidad, and the West Indies in the past 5 years.
Dr. McCollin is a Fulbright scholar teaching at the Department of Special Education at Hanoi University of Education.
On the occasion of teaching at Hoa Sen University on May 10 and 11, Dr. Michelle McCollin will lecture on two topics:
- Benefits of collaborative teaching approach (Benefits of collaborative teaching approach, useful for lecturers teaching the same subject) at 9:00-12:00 am May 10 ;
- Teacher effectiveness and effective practices (Teachers’ effectiveness and innovative methods, to improve teaching quality, and reduce student dropout rates) at 9:00 – 12:00 am May 11.
Training location: Room 905, Nguyen Van Trang Headquarters. The language used at the training sessions is English with interpretation.
