Hoa Sen University team won prizes at the 2018 National Student Mathematics Olympiad
During the week from April 9, 2018 to April 14, 2018, Hoa Sen University participated in the “National Student Mathematics Olympiad at Quang Binh University”. This is an annual competition organized by the Vietnam Mathematics Association. This year, the exam attracted nearly 800 candidates from 79 Universities, Colleges, and Institutes. Candidates participate in two subjects: Algebra and Calculus.
The delegation from Hoa Sen University participated with 3 lecturers on the subject of International Science (TQD program) and 6 students of the Faculty of Science & Engineering and Management Economics. Some students come from majors other than Mathematics and encounter many difficulties and obstacles when participating in review classes (inappropriate time, location, etc.) but under the dedicated guidance of The teachers, especially the school’s attention, have made their best efforts and achieved encouraging results. Specifically: there were 2 Consolation prizes from students Nguyen Van Nam (Applied Mathematics major, course 16) and Luu Tan Nguyen (Information Technology major, course 15).
On the sidelines of the exam, the Organizing Committee also had many meaningful exchange activities such as the Singing Contest and the 26th National Student Mathematics Olympiad; Go sightseeing and explore famous monuments, landscapes, heritage sites, and world records in Quang Binh. Although the number is not large, students and lecturers also try to participate in sports and arts to contribute to the overall success of this year’s exam.
Hopefully, in the coming years, Hoa Sen University will continue to participate in this exam and we look forward to the most positive things the competition brings.
