The Opening Ceremony of India’s Corner at Hoa Sen University Library: A Bridge of Culture and International Cooperation
On September 24, 2024, Hoa Sen University solemnly hosted the Opening Ceremony of “India’s Corner” at the library of the Nguyễn Văn Tráng campus. This event marked an important step in the journey of expanding international relations, providing students and the community with opportunities to explore culture, education, and cooperation with India.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of: Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri – Consul of India in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Trần Ngọc Hân – Assistant to the Indian Consulate; Mr. Manoj Mehta – Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Heavenly India Magazine; Mr. Kevin Beisser – International Education Manager at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Dr. Phan Thị Việt Nam – Vice President of Hoa Sen University; Ms. Võ Hồng Hạnh – Library Director of Hoa Sen University; Dr. Hồ Thị Mỹ Linh – Head of the Global Engagement Office of Hoa Sen University; MSc Nguyễn Bảo Anh – Deputy Director at the Institute Studies & Leadership, along with many students from Hoa Sen University.
The ceremony commenced with speeches and sharing by representatives from Hoa Sen University and the Indian Consulate:
Dr. Phan Thị Việt Nam – Vice President of Hoa Sen University, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of India’s Corner as a cultural bridge between the two countries. She extended heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City for their collaboration and support in bringing this project to life. India’s Corner is not only a space containing resources but also a place for students to study and deepen their understanding of India’s rich culture.
Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri, Consul of India in Ho Chi Minh City, also highlighted the importance of educational cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the fields of cultural and educational exchange. He expressed his hope that India’s Corner would be a significant first step in further promoting mutual understanding and bilateral cooperation.
After the speeches, Dr. Phan Thị Việt Nam presented flowers and a gift to Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri as a token of appreciation from Hoa Sen University. The ceremony continued with the ribbon-cutting, officially inaugurating India’s Corner at Hoa Sen University’s library on Nguyễn Văn Tráng campus.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Hồ Thị Mỹ Linh – Head of the Global Engagement Office, thanked the students of Hoa Sen for their enthusiastic participation and invited them to explore the valuable books donated by the Indian Consulate.
