Strengthening Global Collaboration: A Partnership Between Hoa Sen University and Artevelde University of Applied Sciences
Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (Artevelde UAS), headquartered in Ghent, Belgium, is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Boasting a student body of over 15,000 and a dedicated staff of more than 1,600, Artevelde UAS offers a diverse range of programs spanning Business, Information Technology, Education, and Health. With a strong emphasis on integrating theory with practice and a vision for global engagement, Artevelde UAS serves as a hub for students seeking a comprehensive and international educational experience.
In pursuit of further international development and cross-cultural exchange, Artevelde UAS has forged a close partnership with Hoa Sen University (HSU). Located in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, HSU shares a similar commitment to providing students with opportunities for global learning and personal growth. Through this collaborative effort, both institutions aim to enrich the educational experience of their students, fostering an environment of cultural understanding and collaboration on a global scale.
Over the years, the relationship between Artevelde UAS and HSU has grown into a close-knit partnership. Since 2020, both universities have intensified their efforts to promote cooperation and development, resulting in a significantly strengthened connection between them. This enhanced collaboration has positioned both institutions as reliable hubs for Student Exchange Programs (SEP) during international study semesters.
On April 4, 2024, Artevelde UAS and HSU convened an important meeting, marking a significant milestone in expanding and reinforcing their cooperative relationship. The meeting was exceptionally successful, underscoring the mutual commitment of both universities to fostering an enriching and sustainable multinational learning environment.
The main content of the meeting was issues related to the SEP such as:
- Review and improve the SEP after previous collaborations, the potential to develop more extensive areas of cooperation; and,
- Promise to have more new terms and agreements in accordance with international learning needs and trends.
Additionally, two exchange students participated in the meeting: Ms. Lannutti Nina, who is studying International Business Management at Artevelde UAS, and Mr. Lam Vo Minh Quan, an HSU student majoring in Marketing.
Ms. Heidi, the International Relations Officer at Artevelde UAS, highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between HSU and Artevelde UAS. She noted that the number of students engaging in exchanges between the two universities has steadily risen each year. Particularly noteworthy is the trend of Artevelde UAS students selecting HSU as their preferred exchange destination, with consistently positive feedback from previous participants highlighting the mutually beneficial nature of the partnership.
The enthusiastic discussions during the meeting fostered a positive atmosphere, strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two universities. This intimate gathering served not only as an opportunity for exchange and connection but also as a vital catalyst for the continued growth and sustainability of future cooperation activities.
Enhancing the student experience through the SEP is an essential aspect of our international education mission. The SEP represents a valuable opportunity for students at HSU to engage in international integration programs, gaining valuable knowledge from lecturers and experiencing a multicultural learning environment.
Participation in the SEP not only facilitates the acquisition of professional knowledge but also fosters the development of communication skills, creative thinking, and teamwork within a multicultural context. These experiences are invaluable assets that students carry forward into their future endeavors.
The Office of Global Engagement at HSU is dedicated to fostering and expanding collaborative partnerships with global institutions. Our efforts aim to attract students and faculty members from diverse backgrounds to engage in academic exchanges and research initiatives.
