3 Minutes of Inspiration for Sustainable Development – Osaka University “Student Video Contest”

About SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

The SDGs Virtual Exchange Program at the Center for Global Initiatives at Osaka University is glad to extend an invitation to students to take part in the Osaka University Student Video Contest “3 Minutes of Inspiration for Sustainable Development”. 

“We launched this Student Video Contest in 2021, and since then we received 256 videos from 23 countries and territories. This year we are excited to organize it again! We invite all students at Osaka University and our partner institutions worldwide to join us and actively participate in this contest.”, Osaka University expressed

Description

Students at partner universities of Osaka University including members of university consortiums and inter-faculty partners are invited to film a 3-minute movie on SDGs and offer their ideas on how they may change their local communities. English, Japanese, or their native tongue can be used by students; kindly include English subtitles for languages other than Japanese or English.

Video requirements

• Length: Up to 3 minutes
• Language: English, Japanese, or your native languages (for languages other than Japanese or English, please make sure to add English subtitles)
• File size: Up to 400MB
• Quality: High-quality video is encouraged (The video quality can range from 4K or lower, including videos made on smartphones)
• Format: .mp4, .mov

Prizes

• Osaka University President’s Prize: 100,000 JPY is the grand prize
• “The Best SDGs Idea Award”
• “Prize for Best Production”
• “Award for Encouragement”
• Award of nomination

* All qualifying videos will receive Osaka University Certificate (digital)

* The shortlisted videos will be played at the Awards Ceremony and the Student Forum.

Pre-entry deadline: September 29, 2024 (Sunday)

Deadline for video submission: October 27, 2024 (Sunday) (23:59 in Japan Standard Time)
