Hoa Sen Research Seminar # 103

This week you are cordially invited to the HSRS #103 on Thursday, 26 November 2015 at Room 501, 8 Nguyen Van Trang campus of Hoa Sen University.

In the first session (9:00-10:30), Dr. Klimis Vogiatzoglou from FEC, Hoa Sen University will have a talk on “Observing the world and the inquisitive economist” to share his research experience.

Abstract

The presentation draws on personal thoughts about economic research as well as personal experiences. It aims at pointing out several issues that are relevant with respect to research initiation and early stage “analysis” and writing. An overview and examples are provided with respect to “observing”, “following trends”, and “recording patterns”. The presented overall approach intends to help create awareness of various economic phenomena or a given topic, and in extension to lead to insights, thoughts, and a first analysis.

In the second part, Dr. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc from FEC, Hoa Sen University will introduce the training course on “ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants”. As she had a chance to participate in the course, she would like to share some knowledge and useful information for those who are seeking research funding and grants.

“The course is part of the DIES (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) which was conducted by University of Cologne, Germany. The aim of DIES ProGRANT is to train researchers and young PhD holders in developing a promising research proposal for national or international research funding”
