Students show off their English skills at the final “Chief accountant for a day”
On the afternoon of April 25, the final round of the “Chief accountant for a day” contest took place with the presentation and criticism of the contestants of 5 teams from many universities across the country: Hoa Sen University, Foreign Trade University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang University, Banking Academy, National Economics University, University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City.
“Chief accountant for a day” Contest is an intellectual and rewarding playground for students to improve their analytical and critical thinking, enhance their English skills, teamwork, confidence and professionalism. The contest also aims to create opportunities for Hoa Sen students and lecturers to exchange, learn and share expertise with partners and friends.
The competition is held 100% in English by the AAC Accounting and Auditing Club of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, for students across the country. After 2 rounds of competition, from 185 contestants, the best 15 contestants from 5 teams entered the final round. At this round, each team will present a topic on transfer pricing, management accounting of manufacturing companies, IFRS, analysis and handling of errors discovered through audits, procedures and regulations when starting a business in Vietnam of which a chief accountant needs to be fluent.
The team of judges at the Final Round are experienced experts from large and reputable organizations in the field of accounting and auditing, including: Ms. Nguy Thuy Phuong – Deputy General Director of Viet Australia Auditing Company; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh – Deputy General Director of Mekong Paper Production Trading Joint Stock Company; Ms. Nguyen Cam Chi – President of the Foundation for Youth Development (FYE); Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai – Director, SAPP Education JSC, Dr. Phung Thai Minh Trang – Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking.
After the presentation and critique process with the Jury, the “Chief accountant for a day” Contest found the owners of the prizes:
The first prize belongs to GROUP 2 of the group of contestants: Doan Que Tran – Foreign Trade University (FTU2); Ngo Thanh Danh – Foreign Trade University (FTU2); Tran Quoc Hung – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Do Thi My Hoa – Foreign Trade University (FTU2); Vo Thanh Luan – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
The second prize belongs to GROUP 5 of the group of contestants: Do Hoai Bao – Hoa Sen University; Ly Thi Tuyet Nhung – Hoa Sen University; Luu Gia Linh – Hoa Sen University; Nguyen Thu Phuong – Hoa Sen University; Pham Hoang Nam- Hoa Sen University.
The third prize belongs to GROUP 3 of the group of contestants: Vu Thuy Binh- Hoa Sen University; Nguyen Tran Kien Thuc – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Vo Viet Thu Hang – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Thu Hien – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Le Thi Phuong Trinh – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
Consolation prizes belong to 2 teams: GROUP 4 of contestants: Tran Ngoc Tuong Nhi – Nha Trang University; Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong – Foreign Trade University (FTU2); Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Huong – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Thuy Huong – Banking Academy; Tran Lam Kieu Trinh – Nha Trang University and GROUP 9 with contestants: Pham Nguyen Nam Son – Hoa Sen University; Bui Ngoc Phuong- Hoa Sen University; Do Thi Ngoc Anh – National Economics University; Pham Huyen Thach Thao – National Economics University; Vu Trung Tuan – University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF).
Accordingly, the first prize group will receive 10,000,000 VND, 2nd prize worth 5,000,000 VND, 3rd prize worth 3,000,000 VND, 1 consolation prize worth 1,000,000 VND each. In addition to cash, the winners also received scholarships from SAPP and the Vietnam Youth Development Fund FYE and the course funding from SAPP Academy.
The “Chief accountant for a day” season 2 contest ended successfully.
Vu Thuy Binh, HSU student shared: “The reason I participated in the contest was to try my best. From the contest, I not only learned teamwork skills, improved public speaking skills, and especially English skills because this is a contest held 100% in English.”
