Hoa Sen University clearly defines the goal of internationalization, improving the quality of education for Ho Chi Minh City
On March 4, the Plenary Meeting of the Council of Rectors of Universities in Ho Chi Minh City to summarize the activities in 2022 and implement the direction and tasks in 2023 took place. Hoa Sen University (HSU) attended the conference and was honored to be one of the three representatives presenting the speech.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Phan Van Mai – Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of universities in the city; Mr. Duong Anh Duc – Member, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Council and representatives from universities in the city.
At the conference, the delegates discussed and proposed solutions to improve the quality of human resource training in the city. Hoa Sen University is honored to be one of the three representatives presenting the speech.
With the topic “Developing international cooperation at universities”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy, President of Hoa Sen University suggested that Ho Chi Minh City need to identify key industries, spearheads in economic and social development and strategic information on human resource development to universities. From there, the schools serve as a basis for building development strategies in each period (5 years, 10 years, …), anticipate development trends and needs of society, contribute to providing human resources for the city in accordance with development requirements. Along with that, it is building and promoting the activities of the International Training Center with the composition of schools with key industries of international quality to promote industry development, as well as international cooperation orientation.
According to statistics, there are many schools named in regional and world prestigious rankings, building brand, trust and prestige in society. As of January 31, 2023, there are 220 training programs of the schools that have been evaluated and recognized by reputable foreign education quality accreditation organizations.
In particular, Hoa Sen University with the goal of internationalizing the training program for students has continuously achieved international certifications and accreditations such as QS Stars (UK), ACBSP (USA), AUN-QA (Southeast Asia). In 2022 alone, HSU has three more FIBAA-accredited majors, three AUN-QA-certified disciplines, especially Hoa Sen is the first university in Vietnam to achieve NEAS (Australia) certification for the program of English for international communication. In addition, HSU signed a cooperation agreement with De Montfort University (UK), bringing DMU’s curriculum to Vietnam, once again strongly affirming the goal of internationalization, contributing to improving the quality of education for Ho Chi Minh City as well as the southern region.
