Creating and developing experiential learning activities is one of the crucial aspects at Hoa Sen De Montfort. In addition to acquiring specialized knowledge in the classroom, students also have the opportunity to enhance their soft skills through various experiential learning activities. Let’s look back at some memorable moments in March!
1. Extracurricular activities at the Zoo of DMU students
As one of the kick-off activities for March, the extracurricular session at Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens provided a unique yet familiar learning experience: Students not only explored the gardens, observing various animals but also had individual tasks to complete their assignments. This helped students feel like they were playing while learning, yet still contributing to their academic journey.
2. Hoa Sen Tour at Nguyen Van Trang headquarters of iSchool Long An student delegation
Recently, the Hoa Sen – De Montfort program exclusively launched a University Experience class in collaboration with iSchool. Here, students experienced a dynamic learning environment and the modern facilities of Hoa Sen University, along with exciting activities.
iSchool students had the opportunity to have their questions answered by esteemed teachers regarding various fields of study, future career opportunities, as well as receive guidance to help them choose their majors and find suitable learning environments. This provided them with valuable information to make informed decisions early on.
3. Mini-talk: Instructions on “How to build a multinational technology business from scratch” inside DMU classroom
Ms. Yulia Beymlina, founder of “English Student to Student”, shared valuable knowledge, experiences, and personal insights for students interested in entrepreneurship in today’s era of international integration. She discussed ways for young people to generate startup ideas, provided tools to identify potential customers, and offered advice for a smooth entrepreneurial journey.
The conversation partly addressed the challenges and conveniences for students when starting a business, as well as how to find support tools for the startup process.
4. Experiential activity is “A day as an archer” by Hoa Sen – De Montfort
The jointly organized archery activity, designed for students to experience a day as archers, brought excitement and a lively atmosphere, helping participants forget about the stressful study hours in the classroom. It also introduced the experience of this sport to a large number of students compared to other sports.
Hoa Sen – De Montfort program hopes that through these experiential learning activities, there will be increased cohesion and enthusiasm among students, fostering comprehensive development to pursue their passions and become outstanding international citizens.
5. Hoa Sen Tour
The Hoa Sen – De Montfort program welcomed over 300 students from Van Hanh Primary School, Nguyen An Ninh High School, and Phước Long High School to visit, learn about, and participate in career simulation experiences.
During the event, students engaged in the following highlighted activities:
- Exploring 30+ “hot” fields of study at Hoa Sen University and the Hoa Sen – De Montfort partnership program.
- Experiencing trendy sports such as laser shooting and archery.
- Playing mini-games to win exciting prizes.
- Networking with Hoa Sen University students at booths showcasing projects and signature clubs.
- Admiring the set designs of the Digital Arts department.
- Attending the talk show “Understanding, Loving, and Accompanying Your Child” with the theme “Guessing Professions by Colors” alongside experts.
- Receiving a “HoaSen Go Global” passport for the opportunity to experience Malaysia and Thailand during this summer.
6. Unforgettable emotions from the first international experience journey of the Lotus Program – De Montfort Go Global in Malaysia
During this journey, students had the opportunity to learn about the international education environment at the University of Wollongong Malaysia, study the business activities of Beryl’s Chocolate company, and visit famous landmarks such as the Petronas Towers and the Vietnamese Embassy.
Hoa Sen – De Montfort Go Global provides new students with the chance to experience and learn for future academic and professional endeavors, enabling them to confidently embark on journeys to countries like France, the United States, and Germany, just like their senior counterparts and alumni from Hoa Sen University.
