Hoa Sen – De Montfort Program Scholarship Information – 2023
The Hoa Sen – De Montfort Program is pleased to announce to the school administrators of high schools, esteemed teachers, parents, and especially to the students under the scholarship policy for the 2023 admissions as follows:

2. Scholarship Evaluation Criteria
2.1. Entrepreneurial Scholarship
> Description: Awarded to students with excellent academic achievements, language proficiency, determination, entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership qualities that align with certain criteria set by Hoa Sen University’s partner companies. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides salary support from the company for the entire 4-year university education (equivalent to 80,000,000 VND per year for 4 years). Additionally, students have the potential for immediate employment upon graduation. Scholarship renewal will be assessed annually based on academic performance and evaluations from the participating companies.
> Evaluation Criteria: Candidates must have applied, been admitted, and enrolled in Hoa Sen University in 2023 with an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, or an average score in English subjects at the high school level of 9.0 or higher. They must also meet one of the following criteria:
1. Achieve an average score of 9.0 or higher over 5 semesters in high school: GPA = (GPA Grade 10 + GPA Grade 11 + GPA Semester 1 Grade 12)/3
2. Obtain a total score of 26 or higher in the 2023 National High School Examination with the combination of subjects: A00, A01, B00, D01, D03, D07, D08, D09, D14, or D15.
3. Achieve a score of 1,000/1,200 or higher in the 2023 Entrance Examination for Gifted Students held by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Note:
> Priority will be given to students with outstanding academic achievements or extracurricular activities at the high school or local level.
> (*) The criteria set by the companies will be announced before the candidates participate in direct interviews with the scholarship board at Hoa Sen University.
2.2. Talent Scholarship
> Description: Awarded to students with exceptional talents in various fields, who demonstrate the ability to harness their inner strengths and personal values to become outstanding individuals throughout their 4-year education at Hoa Sen University, with strong language proficiency. Eligible candidates will be granted a full scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees for the entire 4-year duration and will be considered for renewal annually based on academic performance and outstanding achievements in showcasing their talents.
> Evaluation Criteria: Candidates who have applied for admission, been successfully admitted, and enrolled at Hoa Sen University in 2023; candidates with exceptional talent, outstanding achievements in reputable competitions across various fields such as culture, arts, science and technology, sports and physical education, from January 1, 2020, to July 15, 2023 (candidates must provide evidence along with their scholarship application and undergo evaluation by the scholarship board).
2.3. Young Leadership Scholarship
> Description: Awarded to students with the qualities and capabilities to become future leaders, working in a multinational environment. Candidates who have entrepreneurial projects with practical outcomes (having achieved high results in entrepreneurship competitions, both domestically and internationally, is an advantage) or are currently managing their own company or business (including various channels of business, commerce, or online advertising) are sought after. Scholarship renewal will be evaluated annually based on academic performance and the results of maintaining entrepreneurial projects.
> Evaluation Criteria: Candidates who have registered for admission, been admitted, and enrolled at Hoa Sen University in 2023 must possess an IELTS certificate with a score of 5.5 or higher, or have an average English grade at their high school (over 5 semesters) of 8.0 or above.
3. Regulations on Scholarship Evaluation and Maintenance
> Scholarships are only applicable for candidates who have graduated from high school before 2023.
> Candidates meeting the scholarship criteria as determined by the scholarship board will not have their scholarship results reserved for the following semester or academic year in the Hoa Sen – De Montfort Program.
> Scholarships are prioritized and awarded to candidates who meet the criteria and standards set by the scholarship board and are ranked in descending order of scores.
> Each candidate is only allowed to submit one scholarship application in 2023. If the scholarship application for a certain type of scholarship does not meet the requirements, the scholarship board will consider transferring, reviewing, and awarding another suitable type of scholarship (if any). Candidates found to have used counterfeit credentials or documents for other scholarship applications will be considered in violation of the scholarship application regulations, and any scholarship results (if any) will be canceled, with full legal responsibility borne by the candidate.
> Awarded scholarships candidates must complete the enrollment procedures within the specified time frame set by the scholarship board and will have the scholarship amount deducted directly from their tuition fees for each semester or academic year. Scholarships cannot be converted into cash or transferred to other candidates. As scholarships are tangible items, candidates will be responsible for paying any taxes, registration fees, or other applicable fees as required by the state.
> For scholarships awarded for a duration of 2 years or more, the following conditions must be met:
> In addition to maintaining a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher after each academic year, students must submit applications for the Excellent Lotus Scholarship and meet the following criteria:
> For the Entrepreneurial Scholarship: Students must meet the evaluation criteria set by the sponsoring company each year.
> For the Talent Scholarship: Students must maintain their talent achievements in their respective fields that were evaluated and awarded the scholarship previously.
> For the Young Leader Scholarship: Students must maintain the results of their entrepreneurial projects and business outcomes as assessed and commented on by the Hoa Sen University Scholarship Board (Students must provide evidence).
> Students must adhere to ethical standards and discipline throughout their time studying at the university.
> Students must not interrupt their studies during their time at the university.
> Students must participate in and be recognized for at least 80% of the following activities:
> Activities within the university:
> Promoting the image of Hoa Sen University and the Hoa Sen – De Montfort program.
> Participating in academic activities, scientific research at the faculty, department level, etc.
> Participating in career orientation, recruitment events organized by the university.
> Participating in extracurricular activities, social movements, voluntary activities organized at the university, faculty, or department level.
> Activities outside the university as university representatives:
> Participating in and winning awards from encouragement or higher at cultural, artistic, sports, scientific, technological, medical, health-related competitions, etc.
> Participating in social and community activities organized at the national, provincial/city, district/commune, ward level, etc.
> Students who have received scholarships:
> If not eligible for scholarship renewal for the following academic year, students will no longer receive scholarships for subsequent years.
> If they violate the regulations, receive disciplinary action, voluntarily interrupt their studies, or are forced to suspend their studies in any semester or academic year, students will no longer receive scholarships for subsequent years.
> If they violate the regulations, receive disciplinary action, voluntarily drop out, or are forced to drop out, they will be responsible for reimbursing 100% of the scholarship amount received up to that point.
> For IELTS certificates: They must be valid for at least 2 years (from the date of application for the scholarship).
> For scholarships awarded for only 1 year or one-time scholarships, the policy of scholarship renewal and awarding for the next year does not apply. However, students will have the opportunity to continue to apply for other scholarships available to existing students at Hoa Sen University, like all other students at the university.
> Candidates meeting the scholarship criteria for 2023 will only apply for one tuition fee discount or scholarship with the highest value at the time of enrollment and fee payment.
